The Sunwayfoto T1A20 aluminum tripod is a beast of a tripod. Folded, it's 12 inches. Fully extended its a little over 18 inches. It weights 3 pounds and is made out of machined black aluminum. The leg latches are even make out of metal - quality, quality, quality! The bottom of each leg has a spike that can be removed for flatter surfaces, as well as a rubber piece on the inside of the leg that is used when the legs are fully flat. The legs can slide off and easily cleaned if need be - very easy to clean sand and dirt from the legs without taking apart the whole locking mechanisms.
