Steyr SSG 04 A1 .300 Win Mag

The STEYR SSG 04 A1 has been specially designed to serve law enforcement application. It is built on the proven SBS system and features a heavy cold hammer forged barrel with a muzzle brake to accept silencers.

An extended 20MOA Picatinny rail system (Mil. Std. 1913 rail) allows attachment of various day and night vision devices. A bipod, hi-capacity magazine and a fully adjustable buttstock is also standard as well as the outstanding adjustable trigger. The fibreglass reinforced polymer stock in combination with the rugged locking system and match grade STEYR barrel guarantees perfect accuracy.

Safe Bolt System (SBS): The patented Safe Bolt System (SBS) with an additional safety bushing is regarded as a special safe rifle concept. The shooter is effectively protected against escaping, high pressure gases and rupturing of the rifle’s receiver. Special grooves machined into the bolt guarantees a reliable operation of the rifle, even under extreme environmental conditions. The bolt head is extremely massive by design and locks directly behind the cartridge case into the receiver. The bolt handle also locks in to the receiver which disengages the firing pin allowing safe movement while on the hunt.

2+1 Safety: While in the safe position, the firearm can be loaded and unloaded. The trigger is locked,
which prevents unintentional firing. Just before you intend to shoot, you roll the safety wheel silently
forward. A button on the safety wheel prevents the unwanted rolling of the safety wheel. Trigger and bolt are locked. Firing pin safety. Cocking indicator on rear of bolt.

Magazine: The 2-stage magazine uses a first stage that locks the magazine in but allows the bolt to be operated while not engaging and chambering the rounds in the magazine, thereby providing the operator with the option of loading individual rounds by hand while maintaining a full magazine at the ready. A simple tap to the bottom of the magazine then seats it in the second stage, which is ready for auto-loading.
